Who we are

WorkAlong is operated under the business name Workalong, a Florida registered fictitious name, in Florida, United States. Contact: joinworkalong@gmail.com.

What this covers

This policy covers the joinworkalong.com website and its waitlist. Before WorkAlong opens accounts to approved members, we will update this policy to explain what we collect and keep for accounts.

Who can use WorkAlong

You must be at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think someone under 18 has joined the waitlist, email joinworkalong@gmail.com and we will act on it as described under "Your requests".

What we collect

  • Your email address, if you join the waitlist. Clerk, our waitlist and sign-in provider, stores it for us. Today we do not keep a separate copy of waitlist emails outside Clerk.
  • Technical information. When you use the website, and the waitlist and sign-in pages, our hosting provider Vercel and our provider Clerk receive the information every web request carries, such as your IP address and browser details.
  • Anything you send us, for example if you email joinworkalong@gmail.com.

How we use it

To run the waitlist, to send you the emails described below, to keep the website and waitlist secure and prevent abuse, to answer you, and to meet legal obligations.

Emails

  • Early-access updates. When you join the waitlist, Clerk sends you a confirmation email from noreply@joinworkalong.com. When we invite you, Clerk sends an invitation email with a link to create your account. We may also email you about your place on the waitlist and when WorkAlong opens. These are the updates you asked for by joining. To reach us, email joinworkalong@gmail.com. Both emails tell you to write to joinworkalong@gmail.com with questions or privacy requests.
  • If you do not receive a confirmation email after joining, check your spam folder or email joinworkalong@gmail.com.
  • Promotional marketing. We do not send promotional marketing today. Before we ever do, we will ask for your separate consent and give you a way to opt out.
  • Opting out. Email joinworkalong@gmail.com and tell us what you want to stop. We handle these requests by hand. To stop early-access updates, we will remove you from the waitlist as described under "Your requests". To stop promotional marketing, once it exists, we will stop it and keep you on the waitlist.

Sharing

We do not sell waitlist email addresses. We use service providers to run the website, the waitlist and our email, and we share information when the law requires it.

Service providers

  • Vercel hosts the website, in the United States (US East).
  • Clerk provides the waitlist and sign-in and sends the waitlist emails. Clerk uses an email delivery service, SendGrid, to deliver them. Clerk keeps its own records under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
  • Porkbun provides our domain name and DNS.
  • Google provides the Gmail mailbox where we receive email sent to joinworkalong@gmail.com.

Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries.

Cookies and browser storage

  • The marketing pages load files only from our own site. They set no advertising or tracking cookies and load no analytics.
  • The waitlist and sign-in pages load Clerk's software from clerk.joinworkalong.com, a subdomain of our site. When we checked the waitlist page, it contacted only joinworkalong.com and clerk.joinworkalong.com, set a Clerk cookie named __client_uat, and stored three small entries in your browser's local storage, named __clerk_environment, __clerk_protect_pid and __clerk_protect_st. Clerk sets cookies and storage that it needs for its waitlist and sign-in features to work, and may set others that we cannot see from the page.
  • You can clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings. The waitlist and sign-in pages may not work without them.

How long we keep it

We may keep waitlist information until someone asks us to remove it, until we no longer need it, or until the law requires us to delete it. If we revoke an entry, Clerk keeps it with a "revoked" status, as described under "Your requests".

Who can see your information

Access to personal information is limited to authorized personnel who need it for operations, security and support.

Your requests

Email joinworkalong@gmail.com to ask us to remove you from the waitlist, or to ask a question about your information. We handle these requests by email, by hand. There is no self-service removal tool today. We aim to respond within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires. When you ask us to remove you: if your entry is still waiting, we delete it through Clerk. If you have already been invited, Clerk does not allow us to delete the entry, so we revoke it. Revoking stops our invitations and emails to you, but Clerk keeps the entry with a "revoked" status, including your email address and the time you joined. We do not promise that an invited or revoked entry can be permanently deleted. If you want it deleted anyway, tell us and we will ask Clerk and tell you what Clerk says. We cannot promise how long Clerk keeps its own records.

Security

The website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date above.
